John D. Hamilton
Monday, September 22, 2008

As a founding father of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Mr. Hamilton has created a legacy of giving to the Chautauqua Region for years. In honor of his dedication to the community, the Foundation annually awards the John D. Hamilton Community Service Award to an individual who has shown dedication, leadership and support in furthering community spirit and enhancing life in our area.

Mr. Hamilton’s community service activities included JCC Board of Trustees for 30 years, United Way Leadership Circle, Roger Tory Peterson Institute and Jamestown Rotary Club. In addition, the John D. Hamilton Scholarship fund is given annually to a student in good academic standing.
