Special Scholarship Applications
Thursday, April 16, 2009

By Rose S. Prinzi

Sometimes when a memorial scholarship is being established, the family or organization setting up the fund identifies a specific or unique criterion.  To accommodate a special talent or interest, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation offers several scholarship funds that require separate applications and processes. Below you will find a list of those special scholarships.

Brenda L. Morrow Memorial Scholarship Fund: To assist students 15-18 years of age participating in an exchange program to a foreign country.  Deadline: April 20th

Kiwanis Club of Lakewood/Paul R. Johnson Scholarship Fund: To assist a graduating high school senior(s) from Panama and Southwestern Central High Schools with a "B" (3.0) or better G.P.A., involved in community service, with a priority to Key Club members. Deadline:  April 27th

Read the scholarship criteria carefully to determine whether you qualify.  Some of these scholarships hold unique opportunities for those looking to pursue a non-traditional experience. All of the above scholarships can be found on the Foundation's website at: www.crcfonline.org under" special scholarship applications."  Applications can also be picked up at the Foundation's office at 418 Spring Street, Jamestown. The submission of each application and its deadline date varies, so follow the directions carefully.
