RECONFIRMATION AND REBIRTH
Celebrating 32 Years of Enriching the Quality of Life in the Chautauqua Region

THE BUTTERFLY IS OFTEN SEEN AS A SYMBOL OF TRANSFORMATION because of its impressive process of metamorphosis. From egg to caterpillar, to cocoon and from the cocoon, the butterfly emerges in all its glory. What a massive amount of transition the butterfly undergoes, and energy it expends to make these changes. The butterfly also unquestioningly embraces the changes of its environment, much like the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation has for the past 3 decades.

As the Community Foundation reflects on 2010, a theme of REBIRTH and RECONFIRMATION instantly comes to mind; and the feeling is that the butterfly symbolizes those two themes.
