On Friday, May 6th, at 7:30 p.m., Terreberry Productions will present I Do! I Do!, a Benefit Concert in the Theatre of the Robert H. Jackson Center. All proceeds from this event will support the R. Richard Corbin Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
I Do! I Do! is a Broadway musical with lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. This two-character story spans fifty years, from 1895 to 1945, as it focuses on the trials and tribulations, laughter and sorrows, and hopes and disappointments experienced by Michael and Agnes Snow (played by Bob & Irene Terreberry) throughout their marriage.
The R. Richard Corbin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to assist students from Jamestown, Falconer, Frewsburg, Bemus Point, or Southwestern School Districts with the cost of instruction in music with an emphasis in piano, organ, musical theatre or music education. Applications are due April 20th.
Last year’s recipient of the scholarship was Cale Hawkins; son of Chris and Shane Hawkins. Cale, a graduate of Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School, greatly benefited from the scholarship funds, and is currently a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He recently released a new EP entitled “Cale Hawkins Presents: Beat Down”, a collection of instrumental urban hip-hop beats.
Tickets for I Do! I Do! are $15 each, and are available now at Viking Trader/Expressive Apparel – (716) 386-6043. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Corbin Family at (716) 664-7046 (days).
