James L. Spunaugle

James L. Spunaugle, 68, of 1071 Spencer Road, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, in his home.

He was born July 6, 1949, in Salina, Kans., a son of the late Russell and Eleanor Cotton Spunaugle.
He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1969-70.

He had been employed by Chautauqua Hardware as a machinist and earlier by Carborundum in the maintenance department.

He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and participated in several leagues.

Surviving are three children: Lisa Spunaugle, David Spunaugle and Christa Spunaugle, all of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Russell W. Spunaugle, Dillon Lampman, Raymon C. Spunaugle and Shaylee Swanson, all of Jamestown; a great-grand- daughter, Adilina Encarnacion of Jamestown; a brother, Russell A. Spunaugle of Jamestown; two nephews: Brian Spunaugle and Allen Spunaugle, both of Jamestown and a niece, Sheila Spunaugle of Jamestown.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, David Spunaugle; and two sisters: Anita Muscarella and Deana Meuker.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Soldier’s Circle.

Memorials may be made to Darren Manzella Lapeira Veterans Assistance Fund at the Community Foundation.

Online condolences may be left at Lind Funeral Home.
