Joyce R. (Hine) Swanson, 88, formerly of Falconer and Crescent City, Fla., passed away Saturday (May 7, 2016) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Joyce was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Falconer, the daughter of the late Clarence and Winogene Persell Hine. She was a graduate of Falconer High School and prior to retirement was employed by Quality Markets as produce manager. Joyce was a member of the Falconer Fire Department Auxiliary and Jamestown Church of Christ.
Surviving is a son, Donald R. (Christine) Swanson of Palm Coast, Fla.; a daughter, Peggy (Randy) Sweeney of Lakewood; four grandchildren: Jay Olson, Jamie (Sean) Devine, Benjamin (Jamie) Hedman and Heidi (Matt) Nocero; 10 great-grand- children: Julian SkyeOlson, Tryndl SkyeOlson, Elyas SkyeOlson, Saje Devine, Leo Devine, Morgyne Devine, Jack Hedman, Jude Hedman, Monica Nocero and Hailey Nocero.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Swanson, whom she married July 7, 1947, in Falconer, who died Nov. 2, 1982; an infant daughter, Lynn Joyce Swanson; three brothers: W. Jack Hine, Donald Hine and Roy Hine; and a sister, Priscilla Hine Yoksh.
Joyce requested no formal service at this time and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
