A joint venture between Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and Chautauqua Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council, is helping area youth develop important life skills.
Awareness Theatre involves classes and discussions about real issues youth face in today’s world and offers participants the opportunity to put learned life skills into action through role-playing. Topics include bullying, peer acceptance, communication skills, and relationship building.
In addition to support from Infinity and CASAC mentors, former Awareness Theatre alum Sheridan Smith and Angela Heath are helping students develop skits that can be performed for other area youth groups.
A grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation supports the weekly group classes.
Awareness Theatre meets every Monday from 6-7 p.m. at Infinity. For more information, or to register, contact Infinity at 664-0991.
