Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Looks Ahead to Give Big CHQ
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is once again inviting residents throughout Chautauqua County to come together in support of local nonprofits during Give Big CHQ, the region’s annual 24-hour online day of giving.
Beginning at 12:00 a.m. on June 11 and continuing through 11:59 p.m., donors will have the opportunity to support more than 140 nonprofit organizations serving communities across Chautauqua County. Participating organizations represent a wide range of causes, including youth development, human services, animal welfare, arts and culture, education, and community enrichment.
Each organization has a dedicated fundraising page at givebigchq.org where donors can learn more about its mission, impact, and current funding needs before making a contribution.
“Give Big CHQ is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community rallies around the organizations that make it stronger,” said Elizabeth Jones, Community Impact Officer of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. “Every year, we see individuals, families, businesses, and community groups come together to support causes that matter to them. Those collective acts of generosity create a meaningful impact for nonprofits throughout our region.”
The giving day is designed to help local nonprofits strengthen their fundraising efforts while increasing awareness of the important work they perform every day.
“For many organizations, Give Big CHQ provides an opportunity to reach new donors and engage with them in ways that might otherwise be difficult,” Jones said. “The event helps amplify their message while generating resources that allow them to continue serving local residents.”
To encourage participation throughout the day, donors will have opportunities to help nonprofits earn additional funding through a variety of prizes and incentive programs made possible by generous community sponsors. This year’s prize sponsors include CCB, Courier Capital, and Northwest Bank.
The impact of Give Big CHQ continues to grow. During the 2025 giving day, more than 2,400 donors contributed over $374,000 through nearly 3,800 gifts benefiting 127 nonprofit organizations across the county. The majority of gifts were less than $50, demonstrating the significant difference that many individual contributions can make when combined.
Community members are encouraged to visit givebigchq.org before June 11, to learn more about participating organizations and plan ahead to take advantage of promotion windows when making their donations.
