Bemus Point Library Establishes Endowment to Sustain Library for Generations
The Bemus Point Library Board of Directors is proud to announce the creation of the Bemus Point Library Fund, an endowment fund established at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation to ensure the long-term strength and sustainability of the library.
This fund will serve as a permanent source of annual support for the library’s changing needs. Possible use for the annual grant distributions include building maintenance, programming, materials, technology, and emerging opportunities that help the Library continue to thrive as a vibrant hub of learning and community connection.
“For generations, the Bemus Point Library has been a place where people of all ages come to read, learn, gather, and grow,” said Yvonne Makl, President of the Library Board of Directors. “Establishing an endowment that is our “forever fund” reflects our commitment to preserving this space for future generations. This Fund will give us the flexibility to respond to emerging needs and to continue offering the programs and resources our community loves.”
The Bemus Point Library Fund is held at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, whose stewardship will help the Bemus Point Library benefit from annual distributions while ensuring that the fund grows over time.
“We applaud the Bemus Point Library Board for taking this important step to secure the organization’s future,” said Tina Downey, Development Officer at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. “An agency endowment is one of the most powerful tools a nonprofit can establish. It ensures reliable, long-term support while giving future boards the flexibility to meet the changing needs of their community. We are honored to partner with the library in strengthening its legacy.”
Community members are invited to contribute to the Bemus Point Library Fund through a variety of giving options including cash gifts, stock transfers, IRA qualified charitable distributions and planned gifts. Gifts of all sizes will help the Fund grow and support the library in perpetuity.
