GRANTMAKING

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation accepts grant applications from nonprofit 501c3 organizations, municipalities, school districts and faith-based organizations that are located in or that serve southern Chautauqua County. All grant applications are reviewed by community volunteers and the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

OPPORTUNITIES

General information about the types of grants offered through the Foundation, including eligibility, criteria, deadlines, award size, applicant characteristics, and more.

  • Supports emerging needs and one-time costs, such as purchases for program/service enhancement and modest capital improvements. Open to faith-based organizations.

    • Due: Bi-monthly; last Wednesday of even months

    • Range: $1,000- $4,000

  • Supports programming and capital improvement projects that seek to address a community need or deliver broad community benefit.

    • Due: March 1, August 1

    • Range: $4,000- $20,000

  • Supports large scale programming or capital projects that address documented community needs or deliver significant economic impact. Organizations must submit a pre-application that may be followed up by an invitation to submit a full application.

    • Due: Pre-Applications due December 1

    • Range: Over $20,000

  • Supports charitable activities serving the Falconer, Kennedy, Ellington and Randolph NY communities. Open to nonprofit organizations, municipalities, school district, faith-based organizations.

    • Due: March 1

    • Range: $1,000- $4,000

CHAUTAUQUA GRANTS

Chautauqua Grants is a shared website that is used by local organizations to navigate the grant application process for 10 local funders.

THE CAPACITY LAB

The Capacity Lab is a collaborative initiative to strengthen nonprofit leaders and organizations in Chautauqua County. The Community Foundation is one of six local funders dedicated to providing resources and collaborative strategies to strengthen the nonprofit sector.
